We asked you to nominate those who you feel have contributed exceptional achievements to their field this year, in a distinctly British way. Nominations were made across the following categories: Arts, Business, Creative Industries, Campaigning & Public Life, Environment, Science & Innovation and Sport.

From your nominations a shortlist of three individuals were chosen from each category by panels of judges, who are experts in their fields. A final judging panel then chose the winners, who were announced at the Awards dinner in January 2008.

Supported by
