In 2006, we launched 'The Morgan Stanley Great Britons Education Programme'. This gives young people the opportunity to explore and express their views on what Britishness means to them. We have designed lessons to encourage discussion and debate in order to approach the topic of Britishness in a positive and healthy manner. After our initial success we decided to continue progress the Education Programme in 2007.
It has often been said that a nation's societal progression is intrinsically linked to its progression in the arts. As a global financial services Firm, Morgan Stanley supports an extensive programme of cultural and educational projects, believing firmly in the benefits these bring to the communities in which the firm operates. Consequently each year Morgan Stanley chooses a British sculptor to design the Award that represents their interpretation of Britishness, thereby promoting both the sculptor and their work.
