Students will begin to explore the key aspects of ‘Britishness’ by examining the elements of identity and diversity which make up their Britishness. The class explores the elements of culture, religion, traditions, ethnicity, values, aspirations, ambitions and hopes. Activities include creating mind maps, associating images and words and a commonalities game, all of which are explained in the lesson plan. These activities will enable students to describe, compare and evaluate the different elements of ‘Britishness’. We have provided visual and verbal stimuli and resources to help generate discussion and debate.
